Job title: Project Support Worker – Mental Health Activities (fixed term)

Job Purpose: To run the mental health activities aspect of our Cost of Living project aimed at supporting survivors of domestic abuse.

Location: Power of the Mind Networks, c/o Spring Charity, Spring Lane, Northampton NN1 2JW

Reporting to: Project Manager

Hours of Work: 12 week fixed term contract. 18 hours per week, including evenings and weekends

Rate of pay: £15 per hour

Main Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinating the mental health activities aspect of our Cost of Living project – these include exercise classes, Muchongoyo dance classes and mental health chat sessions, in conjunction with appropriate professionals/trainers
  • Administering support including help with temporary accommodation and baby supplies
  • Holding one-to-one meetings with beneficiaries and keeping records of conversations and support provided
  • Running focus groups
  • Signposting service users who need further support
  • Updating our social media accounts with details of our activities
  • Creating flyers for activities
  • Raise awareness and grow the charity’s brand through increasing engagement
  • Attending meetings both in person and on Zoom
  • Assessing the impact of activities and amending where required

Previous experience: Previous experience of work within the community or voluntary sector, able to provide references on request.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • IT literate, comfortable with use of technology including Microsoft Office and online platforms such as Zoom
  • Competent in the use of social media platforms
  • Creativity in the delivery of activities

  • Compassionate and sensitive, with the ability to respect confidentiality and the privacy of our beneficiaries
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Good attention to detail
  • Flexible regarding working hours – due to the nature of this project, evening and weekend work will be required.

Other:

  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Must be prepared to undergo a DBS check
  • Full, clean UK driving licence preferred
