Black History Event 2023

Our black history event on Saturday the 21st of October was awesome. We had 6 powerful speakers touching on Mental Health in connection with Menopause, Domestic Abuse Awareness, Self-Care, Court Proceedings during divorce and Sergeant Sharp talked about missing persons, especially in relation to young adults.

There was everything you would associate with black history. The highlight was the muchongoyo cultural dance and the yummy Afro cuisine. Power of the Mind Networks also presented Awards to our community champions.

Special thanks to the Vice Lord Lieutenant Morcea Walker who was our guest of honour and presented the awards. Our aim as an organisation is to promote social inclusion and tackle loneliness through the sharing of lived experiences. That’s exactly what this event was about, providing a safe space for people to network and form friendships.

A huge thank you to our volunteers and members of our community for the continued support, as well as our Funders Reaching Communities. This event would not have happened without you.
