Charity begins at home was a cookery project which was funded by the Rachael Fund and administered by Northamptonshire Community Foundation. The Beneficiaries were young people with mild learning disabilities as well as other young people in general.
Apart from cooking we also worked with Future toolbox who delivered confidence building workshops to the young people. We also had discussions around disability and discrimination as a way of making our community aware that disability does not mean inability. Both young people and mothers managed to network and make friends. The feedback was great and can’t wait to run another project for our young people
