I am very passionate about bringing awareness to different social issues and challenging cultural practices that promote discrimination in the society. I will achieve this through giving a voice to everyone who has a story to tell. At Power of the Mind, we believe everyone's story matters.
My Story
Writing my own story made me realize that there are a lot of people out there who would like to do the same but don’t know how to. Ever since I was young, I have always wanted my voice to be heard and when I came to the UK, 2 things struck me. All there is to read on is about celebrities, politicians, the rich and powerful. I asked myself if it meant that ordinary people do not have any interesting stories and the answer was no. As a result, I had this burning desire that if I ever got the chance, I would make storytelling accessible to all people.
My Mission
My goal is to make change through the stories of resilience that we share, encouraging our readers to learn from others’ experiences, be better people, and see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Looking to the future, I would like to see more women from African backgrounds participate in organizing International Women’s Day events, to better reflect the population of Northampton and give African people a voice in the community!
